COLE COUNTY, MO (KMOX) - A Cole County Judge rewrites the ballot language, formulated by the Republican Party, on Amendment 3.
The America Civil Liberties Union filed suit against Missouri's Secretary of State saying the wording was inaccurate. Jay Ashcroft argued the ballot language accurately described the consequences of enshrining the right to an abortion in the Missouri Constitution.
Circuit Judge Cotton Walker called Ashcroft's original wording "unfair, insufficient, inaccurate, and misleading.
Amendment 3, if passed by a statewide majority vote November 5th, would establish the constitutional right to an abortion up to the point of fetal viability.
