
Forecasters are expecting up to 4 inches of rain to be added to already saturated areas. AccuWeather warning that water will collect in poor drainage areas.
The system now hovering over the Midwest is the same that hammered California. Meteorologists say thunderstorms are possible anywhere from northeastern Texas to the panhandles of Mississippi and Alabama, northward to southeastern Missouri, the southern parts of Illinois and Indiana and northeastern Tennessee. That increases the risk of localized, flash flooding.
Moderate flooding is anticipated along some secondary rivers.
