With the pandemic, more people will be voting by mail in the primary election August 4th. Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman tells KNSS News her office has received "close to 50,000" applications for mail-in ballots, compared to about 8,100 for the last presidential primary. She calls that a "significant increase". Lehman says her staff has been trained by handwriting experts and they'll be checking the signatures on every ballot to protect against fraud. Professional teams will disinfect polling places periodically on election day.
