
The City of Wichita is focusing attention on COVID 19 and the homeless. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News money from the CARES Act will be used to work with the homeless, who Whipple says tend to congregate because there is strength in numbers. Also at Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will be asked to issue industrial revenue bonds for improvements at two senior living facilities. Mayor Whipple says the City has "an incredible bond rating". Crestview Residences is asking for 6.25 million dollars in bond money to develop a facility at 300 North 137th Street East. Larksfield Place is asking for 50 million dollars in bond money to re-finance bonds and make renovations at 2727 North Rock Road.
