COVID positivity rate sees a 10-day drop in Sedgwick County

Kansas has released its new coronavirus data for Wednesday.

There are nearly 200 new COVID-19 cases in Sedgwick County since previously reported, for a total of more than 37,000 cases. Deaths in the county remain steady at 345 people. Sedgwick County's positivity rate is 10.3%, a number maintaining a downward trend during the past week-and-a-half.

The statewide numbers show nearly 3,600 more Kansans have tested positive for the virus just since Monday. The total number of positive cases in Kansas since the pandemic began is in excess of 263,000.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) also reports another 50 Kansans have died with COVID-19. The state’s death toll linked to the virus is 3,575.

Since Monday, 123 more Kansans have been hospitalized with COVID-19.

The KDHE says nearly 112,000 Kansans have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. That's up by more than 10,000 people since Monday, representing 3.8% of the state's population.
