Firefighters battled a large house fire in south west Wichita. It happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the 2900 block of South St. Paul.
Fire crews arrived and found the homeowner attempting to put the blaze out himself. The man suffered minor injuries before firefighters were able to bring it under control.
A cause of the fire and a damage estimate were not immediately available.
