Johnson County health officials announced the sixth case of COVID-19 coronavirus in that county, which marks the ninth case of the virus in Kansas overall. The county says Kansas Department of Health and Environment laboratories identified the presumptive positive case, and those results still need to be verified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Until that confirmation, that result will be treated as positive.
On Saturday, Johnson County announced its fifth case of the virus, and Franklin County announced a case. One person has died from the virus, in Wyandotte County, and one person tested positive for the virus in Butler County.
