The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, the Kansas Lottery has announced suspension of all state-owned casino gaming starting end of business on March 17, 2020, until at least March 30, 2020. The decision was made following Governor Laura Kelly's executive order to ban gatherings of more than 50 people pursuant to CDC recommendations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The four casinos in Kansas with state-owned gaming are the Hollywood Casino in Kansas City, Kansas Crossing in Pittsburg, Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, and Boot Hill Casino in Dodge City.

This statement from Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane:

Earlier today, the Kansas Lottery Commission ordered the temporary closure of all casinos in the state of Kansas as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease.

While there have been no reported cases at our property, based on the Commission's order we will close Kansas Star on Wednesday, March 18 at 5 am. This closure will impact all public operations, including the casino, restaurants, meeting space and arena. Currently, we expect to remain closed through March 30.

Customers with reservations or events scheduled at Kansas Star during the closure period should call (316) 719-5000 for information and assistance.
