A seven-year-old boy who suffered critical injuries in a hunting accident is now out of intensive care.
The incident happened late Saturday afternoon. McPherson County sheriff's deputies say the boy was turkey hunting with his parents northeast of McPherson when another hunter shot at what he thought was a turkey.
It was actually a decoy the boy was near, and the child was struck in the head. The victim was then flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
The boy was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit on Monday morning.
The sheriff's office said all of the individuals involved have been cooperative.
