Here are the local COVID-19 numbers for Tuesday, April 14, 2020:
Kansas, with a total population of more than 2.9 million people, has 1,426 positive cases of the virus, up 3.6% from Monday.
Among those tested in the state, 90% have tested negative for the coronavirus, and 10% positive. The state says nearly 29% of cases have required hospitalization; fewer than 0.5% of Kansas residents have been tested.
Nearly 47% of the state's positive cases are coming from Johnson and Wyandotte counties in northeast Kansas.
16% of the state's positive cases have been recorded in Sedgwick County and its surrounding counties.
There have been 327 hospitalizations for COVID-19 in Kansas, up nearly 6% from Monday. Among those hospitalized in Kansas with the virus, 21% have resulted in death.
Seven more patients died from the virus since Monday, bringing the state's total to 69 deaths. Among the positive cases in Kansas, 4.8% have resulted in death; that's up 0.3% since Monday.
Sedgwick County now has 206 positive cases, up 3.5% from Monday. There have been three COVID-19 deaths in Sedgwick County; among the cases in Sedgwick County, nearly 1.5% have resulted in death.
54% of the COVID-19 cases in Kansas are women, and 46% are men.
