State officials say Kansas voter turnout for the Primary in August was 34.2 percent ... a bit higher than normal for a primary before a presidential election. Sedgwick County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News a race for a U.S. Senate seat proabably boosted traffic at the polls. 41 percent of the votes were by mail.  Meitzner says he doesn't favor a "blanket" approach to mail-in voting ... but that voters should request the ballots. Meitzner says the county election commissioner found "several hundred" questionable ballots last month. He says he doesn't favor voting by mail.

Meitzner also says he thinks people are more than ready to get past the coronavirus pandemic, and get back to normal life.
