The Wichita City Council approved Phase 2 of the city's Aquatics Master Plan at Tuesday's weekly meeting.
This phase will bring improvements to the pools at Minisa and Harvest Parks, and will convert the Linwood Park pool into a water playground, at a price tag of $8 million.
Gary Janzen with the city said that this project should be completed by the first quarter of 2021.
Any funds leftover will be carried over into the city's Phase 3 plan, which will help with repairs and other work planned for College Hill Park pool and to construct new water pads at Harrison and Planeview Parks.
