The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Andover.
It happened at approximately 3:20 p.m. Saturday. The Andover Police Department received a 911 call about a man armed with a gun outside the Kwik Shop located at US-54 and Andover Road.
Officers found a 46-year-old man from Dodge City. After a verbal exchange, an Andover police officer shot the armed subject. The man then fled on foot and was apprehended at the Braum's Restaurant two doors down.
The man was transported to Wesley Hospital in Wichita with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. No officers were hurt in the incident.
The KBI's Special agents and Crime Scene Response Team is investigating and once completed, the findings will be turned over to the Butler County Attorney for review.
