The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the Friday afternoon death of an Ashland teen. It happened at approximately 3:05 p.m. in Ashland, which is located southeast of Dodge City. A 911 call requested assistance after a young girl was shot. Deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and EMS responded to the residence in Ashland and found a 13-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local area hospital and was pronounced dead. The shooting occurred while the 13-year-old was at a friend’s house along with four other juveniles.
