In the midst of the pandemic, life goes on at City Hall. Wichita Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News it's going to be tough drafting a budget over the next few months. He says the City is looking at a revenue shortfall of between five million and 15 million dollars, thanks to the pandemic. But he thinks the city council can balance the budget without a tax increase. He thinks a tax hike during high unemployment is not a good idea.
Whipple say the City has done well in dealing with the pandemic, compared to other cities. That's because officilas made some tough calls at the beginning... cancelling several popular public events.
Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor ... during the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
