Wichita Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News a surge in COVID cases from Thanksgiving is probably on the way ... and we could see it this week. He says between last Wednesday and Friday, Sedgwick County recorded 107 COVID-related fatalities.
At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will consider salary structures and increases for 2012. Mayor Brandon Whipple says the city council wants to protect city employee pay, even as it cuts the budget as the pandemic impacts tax revenue.
With 55 homicide cases this year, Wichita is on track to set a record. Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News police maintain a high percentage of cases solved ... nearly 90%.
