The Sedgwick County Commission voted 5-0 to approve the reopening of County facilities at their weekly meeting Wednesday.
The Main county courthouse will open May 26 with normal hours. People are still encouraged to do business remotely if possible and hearings will be by appointment only. Visitors will also be screened prior to entry and masks will be required, along with social distancing.
Other facilities, like the historic courthouse and the Ronald Reagan Building, will have phased-in openings through July 3.
Tania Cole, Assistant county manager, was asked about the cleaning schedule for high-traffic areas. She assured commissioners that those areas would be cleaned frequently.
A motion by Commissioner Jim Howell to open Sedgwick County Park and Lake Afton Park playgrounds passed unanimously as well.
The Sedgwick County Zoo opened back up earlier this week.
