Some severe weather warnings for the area overnight, coming close to Sedgwick County. It started around 2 a.m. when the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for portions of McPherson, Ellsworth, and Saline Counties. The warning was for radar indications of the potential for 1-inch hail. There were some reports of pea-sized hail falling and the warning was canceled just after 2:30 a.m.
Just before that at 2:20 a warning was issued for parts of Harvey, Butler, Chase, and Marion Counties... just outside of the northeast corner of Sedgwick County. Again the radar indicated threat was of 1-inch hail, and again there were just some reports of pea-sized hail falling. The warning was allowed to expire at 3:15 a.m.
