The Kansas State Fair Board, by a vote of 13-0, has officially canceled the 2020 Kansas State Fair because of COVID-19 concerns.
Only about half of the Fair's vendors were planning on returning so far.
This year’s state fair was supposed to take place Sept. 11-20 in Hutchinson.
State Fair workers will proceed with holding livestock shows and other 4H events on the fairgrounds.
The state fair has $74 million impact annually to the Kansas economy.
