A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg early Sunday morning in Maize.
It happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday, in the 7300 block of west Hidden Acres, located near 53rd and Ridge Road.
Maize Police say a small house party grew very large and when the host tried to shut it down, a fight between several individuals ensued outside. That's when several shots were fired, striking the 16-year-old in the leg. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but has since improved. The teen has been interviewed by law enforcement about what happened.
Police say the teen was not part of the fight and that some vehicles nearby were struck by bullets.
The investigation continues in this case and no arrests have been made.
