This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kansas ... with a state-wide tornado drill today. Chance Hayes with the National Weather Service in Wichita tells KNSS News this is a good time to think about storm safety.
Hayes says Kansas recorded 89 tornado touch-downs last year. The average for Kansas in a year is 94. No tornado fatalities were reported last year.
