Top Kansas GOP lawmakers let governor's stay-at-home order stand

Leaders of the Republican-controlled Kansas Legislature have agreed that Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly's statewide stay-at-home order is necessary to help check the spread of the new coronavirus.  Their acceptance of the order Sunday allows it to take effect Monday as planned. The order will remain in place until at least April 19. The top seven legislative leaders include five Republicans and they had the power to revoke Kelly's order. But they made no move to do so during a half-hour teleconference meeting.

Kansas now has 326 confirmed cases. That includes 42 in Sedgwick County, 7 in Reno County, and 3 in Butler County. Six virus-related deaths have been recorded in Kansas. This is Day 6 of the stay-home order in Sedgwick County.
