A woman and man are dead after a Saturday morning crash in Lyon County. The accident occurred after 11 a.m. on K-130, about 20 miles south of I-35, south of Neosho Rapids.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 77-year-old Dorene Metzger of Gridley was driving north on K-130. Her SUV crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck head-on. Metzger died in the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle, 80-year-old Stephen Skelton of Hartford, was airlifted to Wichita's Wesley Medical, where KHP reports he died.
