Police are working a homicide case out of downtown Wichita.
Late Monday afternoon, officers were called to the east side of the Arkansas River, underneath the Douglas Street bridge, where a jogger had discovered the body of a man, approximately 60 years old.
Police believe this was a homeless man, and the body appeared to have wounds consistent with blunt force trauma injuries; investigators believe the man had been beaten, and that the body may have been there for up to a day.
There have been seven murder cases in Wichita during the first six weeks of the year.
