A Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted a petition from Kanye West to change his name to simply "Ye" legally.
The rapper decided to drop his full name – Kanye Omari West – when he filed the paperwork in late August, citing personal reasons.
In 2018, the artist released his eighth album, entitled "Ye." That same year he tweeted, "the being formally known as Kanye West. I am Ye."
In an interview later that year, West said, "I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you. So I'm you, I'm us, it's us."
