As we live through this era of layoffs and huge government changes, the state of Maryland is expanding its support for veterans.
We talked with Tony Woods, Army veteran and Secretary of the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families, about the ways the state is supporting vets.
We begin with his days leading troops in Iraq. Woods also shares a surprising personal revelation about his time in the Army and the policy that led to his leaving the military.
He also dives into the many ways his department is supporting veterans through education, VA benefit claims assistance and financial support for small businesses.
