A 35-year-old woman drowned at a private lake in Wichita. Rescue crews were called to Go Lake south of the 3300 block of S. Broadway just before 10 p.m. Tuesday; the Wichita Police Department identifies the victim is Aubrey Mayo.

Police say the single mom was swimming with an inner-tube and her friends lost sight of her.

She was last seen early in the evening; later, her friends went to another location, and when they got back, they found the inner-tube washed ashore and called police.

Drones and rescue crews in boats searched the lake during the overnight hours, recovering her body early Wednesday morning.

Police detectives say alcohol may be involved with this case; an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause-of-death.

This is a private lake, often used by several people.
