Nearly four years after he was accused of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl, a 33-year-old Wichita man has been sentenced to 9.5 years in prison.

Sedgwick County District Judge Christopher Magana sentenced Andrion Ashley, who was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
Ashley was arrested on suspicion of rape, kidnapping, aggravated battery, criminal threat, and two counts of child abuse. The district attorney's office said he pleaded no contest in June of this year to lewd and lascivious behavior, aggravated battery, and criminal threat.
A probable cause affidavit states the girl told her aunt, who was also her guardian, in January 2018 that Ashley has touched her inappropriately. He was the boyfriend of another aunt who lived nearby.
The police report was taken at a hospital, with investigators determining the alleged incident happened in October 2017.
The affidavit says that while being interviewed, the girl said she and Ashley were in his car at a park when he touched her. When she tried to get out of the car, the girl said Ashley put his hand around her neck and continued to assault her. She said he told her that if she told anyone, he would kill her, her guardian, and her uncle.
The victim was still in pain in January, when she told her aunt, the affidavit says. Ashley was also accused of physically abusing his girlfriend and at least one other child.
Kansas Bureau of Investigation offender records show Ashley has been registered as a sex offender since September.
