The American Automobile Association is predicting near record-breaking numbers of travelers over the Memorial Day weekend. Shawn Steward of AAA Kansas tells KNSS News, 38-point-4 million Americans are expected to drive to their destination.
AAA predicts 488-thousand Kansans will travel 50 mile or more from home. 87 percent of those will take to the highways. Triple-A predicts nearly 44 million Americans will travel 50 mile or more from home.
