
Severe weather broke out in portions of Kansas Tuesday evening that produced multiple tornado warnings and thunderstorms impacting several communities in central Kansas.
Late Tuesday night included reports of a possible tornado touching down near Kanopolis Lake, in Ellswoth County and near the City of Salina.
A tornado warning was issued for portions of Dickinson and Ottawa counties with a storm near Solomon capable of producing a tornado.
A tornado warning was issued for Ellsworth and Saline counties with reports of tornadoes near Salina. As of 11:00 p.m. Saline County Emergency Management reported no damage and no injuries due to storms. However, a confirmed tornado was spotted near New Cambria, about 12 miles northeast of Salina.
Tornado threats earlier in the evening impacted portions of Barton, Rice and McPherson counties and into southeastern Ottawa County.
Thunderstorms continued their walk across central Kansas into Wednesday morning. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Sedgwick County around 3 a.m. brought hail an inch in diameter at Wichita's Eisenhower Airport, with dime-to-penny-sized hail and heavy rain reported in several places throughout south-central Kansas.
A Tornado Warning was issued for parts of Kingman and Reno Counties around 1 a.m. A Tornado Watch covered most of central Kansas until 7 a.m. So far, no reports of injuries or fatalities.
