Amazon has purchased 20 acres in Bel Aire for a last-mile delivery station. According to Amazon, these facilities create around 100 direct and indirect job opportunities while serving thousands of customers. This will be Amazon's 3rd facility in the Greater Wichita Metro Area.

In a statement Amazon economic development manager Jason Vangalis said, "Bel Aire's strategic location with direct access to major highways and reliable workforce, made it an ideal choice for this newest last-mile facility. Since opening our first area facility in 2020 we're excited to grow our footprint in Kansas."

Plans call for the company to build a 176,000 square-foot last-mile delivery station with completion anticipated in late 2025.  According to Amazon, last-mile facilities  drive the final stage of Amazon's fulfillment process, helping ensure fast, everyday delivery to customers' doorsteps. Similar last-mile facilities have improved delivery times for customers and brought faster delivery times to more rural communities.

The facility will be located in Bel Aire's Sunflower Commerce Park, which features more than 800 acres of space for manufacturing and light industrial development.
