The Sedgwick County Jail has reported the death of an inmate. It's the second inmate death in the past seven days.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Pierre Collins, 34, of Wichita was found unresponsive in his cell Tuesday night. Staff immediately began chest compressions, and EMS was called.
Collins was pronounced dead shortly after medical services arrived.
Collins had been in custody since May 1, 2019, on allegations of kidnapping and domestic violence.
