Two victims are in critical condition among four people hospitalized after a south Wichita apartment fire.
It happened at about 1:00 a.m. Wednesday in the 2800 block of S. Emporia; that's south of Pawnee & Broadway, not far from the Arkansas River, in the Riverwalk apartments.
Smoke was showing when firefighters arrived; there was an initial report that someone may have been trapped in the fire.
The fire was contained to a single apartment on the top floor of one building, with several people inside.
Two children were originally found unresponsive, but both were breathing by the time they were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
