
UPDATE: A 33-year-old man is in custody following multiple, random shootings in north Wichita Friday night.
It began just before 9 p.m., near 13th and Broadway when the suspect attacked a man and stole his bicycle. He then walked up to a nearby home and fired nearly two dozen shots into it, wounding a dog inside.
The suspect then walked down Broadway and shot at a vehicle, which hit the driver's headrest but missed the driver. He later fired multiple shots at a bicyclist and a woman in a parking lot.
Near 12th and Broadway, Police say the man pointed a weapon at two officers, who then shot him, critically wounding him.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is handling the officer-involved shooting investigation and is expected to release more information on Monday.
Meanwhile, Police are also investigating after a man was found dead late Friday night in Prospect Park near the downtown area. Police are not sure if the man’s death was connected to the armed suspect.
