
The Kansas Association of Broadcasters held its convention in Wichita on Monday, highlighted by guest speakers, and featuring a gathering of broadcasters from across the state for interactive sessions. The event was capped off Monday night with the Station Excellence Awards Dinner & Presentation.
Becky Domyan, Audacy SVP/Market Manager for St. Louis and Wichita was in Wichita for the awards presentation.
98.7 and 1330 KNSS received three benchmark awards for 2023-24 at the event:
*For the second straight year, KNSS won the Best Complete Newscast award from the KAB; this is the 10th time KNSS has won this coveted award. The KNSS Newscasts are heard weekdays from 6-9 a.m. on "Steve and Ted in the Morning"; the newscasts are produced by Steve McIntosh, Ted Woodward, Jad Chambers, Dan O'Neal, and Rodney Price.
*Ted Woodward won the KAB award for Best Complete Sportscast, Ted's fourth win in this category. Woodward focuses on voluminous local sports content, heard weekdays from 6-9 a.m. on "Steve and Ted in the Morning" on KNSS.
*KNSS also won the KAB's award for Best Severe Weather Coverage for the second year in a row. When severe weather strikes the Wichita area, the KNSS team activates for live coverage of "Operation StormWatch", produced by KNSS Brand Manager Tony Duesing, along with contributors Dan O'Neal, Steve McIntosh, Ted Woodward, Jad Chambers, and other storm-trackers on the streets.
