Sedgwick County Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News he would like to see better voter turnout when there is not a race for the White House. Baty says for him, election day has always carried a kind of 'buzz' of excitement. Chairman Baty says he knows all of the attention today is focused on the federal races but "the most important thing we do is on he local level", and local races are "very important." He says he would like to see voters take the local races more seriously.
The Sedgwick County Commission will not hold a weekly meeting Wednesday. But Chairman Baty says a staff meeting is scheduled, and they'll talk about new baby elephants at the County Zoo and the county's legislative platform.
Baty commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
