The Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office says the bodies of two people missing following a boating incident on Thursday were recovered Saturday and positively identified by family members.
Authorities said three people were swimming at Kimble Point at Kanopolis Lake when the current carried their boat away. They weren’t wearing life jackets and were unable to make it back to the boat.
One of the swimmers, Reagen Dalke, was pulled out of the water by concerned boaters who had seen their empty boat hours earlier. The other two individuals on the boat included Reagen’s 44-year-old father, and her 14-year-old best friend.
Dalke was initially transported to a Lindsborg hospital and was later airlifted to a Wichita hospital in serious condition.
The man was found near the area where they first went missing. The teen was found by a boater by the face of the dam.
