Butler County authorities are searching for a 77-year-old man.
The Sheriff’s Office says Fred Dieter walked away from his residence, in the rural area outside of Augusta, in the 2600 block of SW 100th Street, on Saturday evening between 6:30 and 7 o'clock.
Mr. Dieter left in an unknown direction and is not believed to be driving a vehicle. Dieter has the beginning stages of dementia. He was wearing jeans, a blue shirt and ball cap at the time he left. Mr. Dieter is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has brown eyes, and grey hair and beard.
