Sedgwick County leaders announced several changes to their organization that will occur over the next few months as the COVID-19 pandemic enters a different phase.

One of the bigger changes you might notice is the county's COVID-19 dashboard, which will be going away at the end of the month. Deputy County Manager Tim Kaufman says it comes as hospital cases dwindle and vaccination numbers slowly diminish.
The county's current positivity rate is 1.37 percent. Area hospital status is good, with just 21 patients admitted and 4 in ICU.
Kaufman says they can bring back the dashboard should the need arise.
He also announced that vaccinations at the old downtown library wrap up at the end of April. The county will continue to do mobile vaccination clinics thru end of the year.
The county will be closing the mass testing site at 4115 east Harry on April 28. Testing for the uninsured begins May 2, by appointment only, at the county's health department location at 2716 W. Central.
By May, the county will reduce the number of medical staff employees from 60 to 12. Vaccination staff will be trimmed from 19 to 3, epidemiology from 73 to 23 and temporary employees will fall to 3, from a current level of 106.
