Three people were transported to a local hospital after a car chase involving a Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputy.

The incident happened around Noon Saturday. The deputy was patrolling the area near Pawnee and Seneca when he was alerted of a stolen license plate. When he located the vehicle and tried to pull it over, the driver sped off. The vehicle ran a stop sign at Irving and Meridian, just south of Kellogg, and collided with another car. The suspect’s vehicle rolled and crashed into a home, igniting a small fire which was put out quickly.

The suspect had critical injuries, while a passenger in his car had serious injuries. A woman driving the other car also received serious injuries.

Two people inside the home were not hurt.

The investigation continues in the case.
