The Wichita City Council and Sedgwick County Commission are meeting together today. County Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News they're discussing a settlement from drug companies and opioid addiction, combining funds to deploy resources in the community to best combat opioid addiction. Baty says the combined settlement could be as high as $10 million.

The meeting is also focusing on parks and quality-of-life facilities, looking for ways to work together to provide a better experience for users of those facilities.

What impact can higher tariffs have on local businesses? Baty is owner of the Mattress Hub. He says higher tariffs will be passed on to consumers by local businesses. He says that impacts consumer confidence.
