A new temporary winter homeless shelter will be opening soon near 21st and Grove.
There's enough space for 250 beds and they will have the ability to provide three meals-a-day.
HumanKind Ministries plans to provide $200,000 to set up and operate the facility, with the City providing the remaining $685,000.
The money requested from the city would go to cover staffing costs of hiring 35 to 40 full and part time people, utilities and supplies.
The City Council is likely to take up approving the funds at next week’s meeting.
