At a workshop Tuesday morning, the Wichita City Council learned that while a budget deficit is still forecast in the coming years, it may not be as high as originally thought.

The numbers were updated as the city now forecasts more in property tax collections, more in interest earnings and savings from unfilled job openings.

The city would also transfer $3 million in those two years from the Stabilization Reserve.
