City to regulate golf carts on Wichita streets

At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will look at an ordinance regulating golf carts. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News the ordinance will ban carts from any street with a speed limit of more than 30 mph. The carts will also carry a special $75 a year tax, along with proof of liability insurance coverage.

The council will also elect a new vice mayor. Wu says council member J.V. Johnston will serve as vice mayor this year. Maggie Ballard served as vice mayor last year.


The annual Point in Time homeless count is set for Wednesday, January 22nd. The annual one-day census assists local and federal officials allocate money to help the unhoused.
