The Sedgwick County Commission will certify the results of the local election earlier this month. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News auditors will look at the ballots and point out any problems, which will be passed the County Commission for final approval and certification next week.
At Wednesday's meeting, the County Commission will approve a proclamation on foster care, recognizing National Adoption Month. Baty says adoption and foster care are "very personal" to him. He says studies show 70% of children in foster care will have contact with the criminal justice system, only 45% will graduate high school, and of the kids who "age out" of the foster care system, one out of three will be homeless in two years.
Ryan Baty commented during his weekly appearance on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
