At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will begin the process to bring improved air service to Wichita's Eisenhower National Airport. Commission Chair Pete Meitzner says they're looking for direct service to Washington, D.C. The commission will approve a support letter with budget consideration in the future. Meitzner says "we're going after an air service grant" to bring daily air service between "the Air Capital and our nation's capital". They want to connect to Reagan International Airport.
Also at Wednesday's meeting, the County Commission will approve a Veterans Treatment Court. Pete Meitzner explains that it's a special court that provides treatment instead of jail time for veterans.
Meitzner commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
