A crash in southwest Sedgwick County left a man in critical condition.
It was reported just before 7 Saturday night, at 71st Street S. and Ridge Road. Officials say a west-bound semi-truck was struck by a north-bound pickup truck that failed to stop at the intersection.
The driver of the pickup, a man in his 30s, suffered critical injuries. The semi rolled onto its side but the driver was not injured.
Around 12 hours later, an early morning injury crash shut down at another intersection for a time.
This crash was reported around 7 a.m., at 135th Street W. and MacArthur Road. A pickup was traveling south on 135th and failed to stop at a stop sign. The truck hit a SUV traveling east on MacArthur. The truck then left the roadway, overturned and caught on fire after it struck a utility pole.
The intersection was closed for an extended period of time as crews replaced a broken utility pole resulting from the crash.
