One person was injured Saturday morning in a house fire north of Cheney.
Fire crews responded to the Back 9 subdivision near Cherry Oaks Golf Course around 1:40 a.m. Saturday. When firefighters arrived, the home's residents had all escaped.
Flames were visible across the first floor and through the roof, but crews quickly knocked it down and entered the home to search for victims and finish battling the blaze.
One person suffered burns and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No firefighters were injured.
Several pets inside the home died. However, two pets did survive, including one that required oxygen, while the other reportedly escaped.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
