A man died in a three-vehicle crash Saturday evening southwest of Wichita.
It happened around 5:30 p.m., near the intersection of 135th St. W and 63rd St. S., around 5 miles north of Clearwater.
An Amazon delivery van was driving south on 135th St. and was followed by a truck and a motorcycle. The driver of the delivery van attempted a U-turn at the intersection, but failed to yield to the oncoming vehicles.
The truck hit the delivery vehicle and the motorcycle struck both vehicles.
A 63-year-old man from Clearwater was driving the motorcycle and died at the scene. His passenger, a 58-year-old Clearwater woman, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the truck, a 70-year-old man, suffered serious injuries. The delivery driver was uninjured.
About an hour later, a man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in east Wichita.
The crash took place around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Central and Hillside near Wesley Medical Center.
Wichita Police say the male pedestrian was trapped underneath a vehicle. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries.
Police say multiple vehicles collided, but no one else was injured.
