
Police are investigating a traffic collision that fatally injured a 69-year-old man from Wichita.
After 6:00 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to an injury accident between a moped and a vehicle at the intersection of McLean & Walker (south of Lincoln); officers located the rider who'd been ejected from his moped after colliding with a Subaru Forrester, driven by a 72-year-old man.
EMS and Wichita Fire crews rendered emergency medical aid to the rider, who was hospitalized in critical condition. The rider did not regain consciousness after the impact and was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators learned the victim was driving east-bound on Walker when he collided with the Subaru going south-bound on McLean.
This is the seventh fatality collision for the year worked by Wichita police.
